Hokkaido, Here We Come~!
On the third day of our visit to Japan, we are heading out of Tokyo to lovely Hokkaido~! ๓(｡•∀•｡)๓
So early in the morning, we head off to Haneda Airport (羽田空港) to take a domestic flight to Sapporo, Hokkaido (札幌、北海道). Since it was still early, we had our breakfast at the airport.
While we were relaxing and enjoying our breakfast, we were also observing the practices that the Japanese were doing before going into the immigration zone. These practices were obviously not done in Singapore and we were pretty amazed with what we have seen. The Japanese were seen taking off their coat, belts, laptops and what-nots and putting into the trays found outside the immigration zone. It was pretty amazing how the Japanese has taken efficiency to the next level with what they do. (ت)
Upon reaching New Chitose Airport (新千歳空港) and getting our luggage, we head out to grab our JR rapid train tickets before boarding the train which brings us to the JR Sapporo Station where our hotel is near to~! A 36-minute train ride on the JR rapid train and we finally reached the JR Sapporo Station. Upon stepping out the train, the cold wind greeted us with glee but we shivered terribly. Hahaha! We didn’t expect the sudden coldness and all we could do during then was to try to dash down the stairs and walk about to find our hotel as our thick jacket was in our luggage. Oops. (´~`ก;)
Luckily the JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo (JR タワーホテル日航札幌) was really near, it didn’t take us long to find it and get some warmth in the hotel. As it was still early for checking in, we decided to leave our luggage with the hotel storage and head out to walk/shop around the JR Tower (JRタワー) which was just beside our hotel! Yes you heard it right, our hotel is just beside the shopping centre and that was the main reason for choosing this hotel due to its great convenience. (ت)
With a bit of walking around in the JR Tower, we decided to do something interesting… To catch a movie! It was probably one of the few experiences we wanted to try in different countries to check out their cinema. We decided to watch The Three Musketeers and acting like tourists, we head over to the box office to get our tickets. Haha! Interestingly Cinema Frontier (札幌シネマフロンティア) has discount for guys on Wednesday, which was also the day we were catching the movie~! That was not all. When we got out tickets, we realised we have no seat number and realised that it was actually free seating for this movie. Cool stuff! See, catching a movie in another country can sometimes bring surprises that you will never expect. (ت)
We each got a set but honestly I don’t remember what I ordered. Haha! So here’s just sharing some photos!
So after our lunch, it’s finally nearing the time when we can check-in to the hotel! And upon checking in, we were wow-ed… ‘Cos the size of the room was just wow-ing after staying at Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku. （*Ö*，）
Wow wow wow, isn’t it? For more information of the hotel, do visit Feng’s blog entry for it! (ت)
And presenting to you the most wow-ing part of the room with the JR Tower Hotel Nikko Sapporo. TADAH~!
Sapporo’s night view is not as amazing as that we have seen in Tokyo from the Tokyo Tower though the streets were still pretty lively at night even though shops do close early too. Night-time at Sapporo is pretty cold during the time we were there too! Brrrr to walk on the streets and we dashed straight into the shopping areas to get our warmth again. Haha! And we totally enjoyed shopping around at BIC CAMERA! Lots of interesting electronics stuffs around and we get to see lovely Japanese brand mobile phone. Why can’t we have it back in Singapore… Boohoo. (*˘•д•)ﻕ And with many floors to shop around, I even spotted a stand of Oguri Shun (小栗旬) advertising for a contact lens brand there! Took a photo with “him” there too. *silly grin* (｀∀´)
So here’s the night view from our hotel room again. Leaning near the window, we realised it was damn cooooooold. Brrrr. Happy to be back in nice warm room of ours and getting ready for the next day’s adventure~! (ت)♪
