Valentine’s Staycation – Capri by Fraser (Part I)
Last Saturday we went for yet another of our local hotel adventure with Capri by Fraser~! Attracted by the photos and blog posts of several bloggers, we decided to give it a try for our post-Valentine’s Day celebration. We took up Option B: St Valentine’s Way and here’s the details of the package.
Our stay with Capri by Fraser was pretty eventful so please bear with the long entry as I walked you through the stay we had with them.
So the day before we check-in to Capri by Fraser, someone from Capri had confirmed our spa timing for the 1-hour massage for 2 persons that was mentioned in the above package. And we were happy to have an early check-in from the package!
The Reception Experience (Part I)
While doing our check-in, there was some mistake in the package details as Option A was being printed on the confirmation form instead of Option B. So Feng corrected the check-in staff and she mentioned that she will do up the changes later and Feng proceeded to sign the confirmation form before we proceed to our room.
Not sure is it ‘cos Capri is a residence, the service was not upfront excellent. Well at least that’s how I feel while doing the check-in. There was not a single staff at the reception and so we got to wait a bit since no bell was around for us to press to get any attention from anyone. If I never remember wrongly, the service staff didn’t apologize to keep us waiting. Ah, probably I am just too strict in my expectations since Capri is afterall quite a new hotel residence in Singapore but I thought I should offer my point of view on their service. (´ㅂ｀)
Here’s a view of the reception area. Really spacious I must say. And love the amount of light that can enter the hotel, making it really nice and bright during daytime.
Capri has some dining outlets within the residence which includes the Delite which is just beside the lift lobby and Caprilicious which is beside Delite. The Drinx beside the Caprilicious and the Ripples by the pool offered drinks to the guests.
Sadly we missed the Big Messy Breakfast which was included in our package as we overslept! (╥╭╮╥ )
Right beside the Drinx is The Pod, which is a large function area! Looks cool to be able to hang out in this area with a group of friends!
Let’s proceed to level 2 for more activities within the hotel residence, which includes the pool bar, spa, steam and sauna and gym!
We were pretty interested to have a swim in the pool but sadly we were not free on the day we check-in and the weather on the next day was pretty MEH since it was drizzling. And SADLY we didn’t get to try the hydro treadmill as shown in the photo! (｡>﹏<｡)
Well the photo from the website was slightly deceiving… The pool doesn’t look as big… Hehe.
Here’s the really HUGE gym! Nice and spacious to house quite a lot of gym enthusiasts.
The Gym Experience
We had a rather funny experience when visiting the gym to take photos. To enter the gym, we had to tap with our room card in order to enter. So after going in, we did some exploration and after spotting a door nearby, I decided to exit it. And that’s when the trouble begins… The door was a one-way door! And thinking that Feng will probably walk back the way we came in, I decided to wait a bit for him to open the door. BUT. Feng decided to exit a second door at the other end which is also a one-way door! And so we had to signal one another using random sign language before deciding there was no way back into the gym and had to walk in the rain to the pool towel area. Why do they have to have such a weird door system with no pre-warnings at the door to remind the guest! Luckily it wasn’t pouring on that day else it will be really SAD. (╥╭╮╥ )
The Steam & Sauna Experience
Remember the sign that says Steam and Sauna? It was pretty tough to look for it considering the direction it points to, we can only spot the Spa, Treat Suite (for spa-goings only), Gym and His and Hers rooms. So well, we decided to go into the His and Hers room thinking those are just the changing rooms/restrooms. Well what do you know! The Steam and Sauna was actually housed inside those areas and boy do I have to say it was rather creepy inside the Her area ‘cos it was actually pretty dim inside that I can’t wait to get out immediately after snapping some fast photos. Haha! The photo of the steam and sauna room was actually brighten. The light was actually flickering when I on it. (｢ﾟДﾟ)｢
Well off with the creepy zone for now as I bring you to the special rooms in Capri, the Spin & Play rooms! The Spin & Play rooms are actually found on every level in the hotel residence as they housed the laundry area for guests to do their laundry. Why Spin & Play you might wonder. Well, that’s ‘cos inside every of these rooms, besides doing laundry, there is an activity which you can do while waiting for your laundry to get clean. ❀´∀`
Here are the various different activities you can find at different levels, of which the Kinect seems to be the most attractive off the choices. Hehe. The Foosball Spin & Dry room is located at level 12 while the Boxing Spin & Dry room is located at level 9.
The iPads rooms are located at levels 4, 8 and 10.
The Kinect Spin & Dry rooms are located at levels 3, 5, 7 and 11. The Kinect Spin & Dry rooms seemed to be more popular was of the four levels, two of them seemed to be taken up by someone in the room so we didn’t go in.
I usually don’t have much to talk about a staycation but Capri really has too many things I want to share so I got to continue with a part 2~! Please proceed to the next blog entry for the continuation of the Adventures with Capri! (ت)♪
